COCONUT SCENTED PRODUCTS I’M OBSESSED WITH FOR SUMMER
Summer is moving so fast this year and I’m trying to hold on to it for a while. My obsession for everything scented coconut happens when the weather gets warmer. I purchase anything and everything coconut scented that inspires me and gets my mood going.
Growing up Greek, the smell of Coppertone always jump started my vacation and I never wanted it to end. Fast forward into my 40’s I still obsess over anything coconut scented. I remember in the 90’s while in high school I wore coconut scented oil purchased from Perfumania in the Gallery on Market Street in Philly. My teacher walking by and announcing aloud “Who the heck is wearing coconut perfume”? I died cause I didn’t want to reveal it was me!
Where does the “Coconut smell” come from?
The smell of coconut comes from, well, the coconut – duh. When you cut a coconut in half you will see the meaty white part and the liquid. That gives it the aroma that we are familiar with. You can make coconut oil from coconuts you purchase from your local produce market. Theres great videos on Youtube like this one for more in detail steps.
Get in the mood with my 5 Coconut Scented products for 2020
Kopari Coconut Melt $28.00 -This multi-tasking product can be used for many uses. I use it right after the shower for immediate and long lasting hydration. You can also use it in your hair especially the ends. It’s been a savior during this summer heat. With Kopari’s vitamin E and fatty acids, it is a natural hydration alternative without the “junk”. I’m also OBSESSED withe coconut deodorant too.
BEAUTY TIP: put a little on a cotton square to remove make up.
The DryBar Coconut Colada $23.00 – Most all dry shampoos are created equal. Not only does this smell like a vacation but it also absorbs and eliminates oil leaving your hair feeling clean and fresh. Perfect for this time of year when we are sweating like crazy. As a one time a week hair washer, this has been a saving grace keeping my hair looking good.

Picture this- waves breaking, the air fresh with sea salt, hitting the seaside cliffs on a warm day. That is what Jo Malone London Wood Sage and Sea Salt is about.

Wood Sage and Sea Salt, not exactly coconut scented, it layers nicely with my Kopari and lotion mentioned above. The 3 notes are ambrette seeds(musky), sea salt (freshness) and sage (woody), blended together giving this delish fragrance its name.
